A new mind-blowing reveal in the tragic story of Ahmaud Arbery’s murder was reported by Channel 2 Action News on May 16th. The infamous video showing Arbery being shot in broad daylight was leaked by Greg McMichael, one of the men accused of taking his life.
According to Channel 2, Greg McMichael was certain that leaking the video to a radio station would help to clear “some rumors” about him and his son Travis McMichael, who was filmed shooting Arbery in the chest from a shotgun.
“He had that tape by himself. He delivered it. We have questions about the length of it,” L. Chris Stewart, attorney for Arbery’s family, told Channel 2.
Alan Tucker, an attorney from Brunswick, Georgia, who represents both McMichaels, said he advised Greg to release the tape, believing it would ease the racial tensions.
“I didn’t want the neighborhood to become a Ferguson,” he claims.
McMichael came to Tucker as a friend, not as an attorney, the report says.
Another attorney for McMichaels, Frank Hogue, claimed during the May 15th press conference that “the truth will reveal that this is not just another act of violent racism,” adding that the defense knows “several other critically important facts. Those facts point to a very different story.”
He also claimed that there was more than one video of the 25-year-old jogger’s murder.
