Game Stop, the world’s mightiest games retailer was very hesitant to close its stores despite all the quarantine restrictions. Even after the government ruled to shut down all non-essential places of business, their Massachusetts branch continued to operate, offering curbside service to the customers.
As The Boston Globe reports, Game Stop was at the same time trying to dispute the order to close, insisting that they were in all respects an essential business.
The instructions from the Game Stop supervisors for the employees also surfaced. The staff members who provided the curbside pickup services were advised to either wear gloves or “tape a Game Stop plastic bag over your hand and arm”. It also recommended keeping a glass door between them and a customer: the orders were handed through the crack in a door by “just reaching out your arm”.
However, this week the Inspectional Services Department for the City of Boston has issued its final warning to the state’s Game Stop branch, promoting them to finally halt their services — at least in Massachusetts.
